You hear a song for the first time. It’s haunting, layered, full of emotion. It doesn’t leave your head for days. You share it with a friend, quote a lyric in a message, add it to a playlist. Only later do you find out—it was generated by AI.
Does that change how it made you feel?
We’re used to tying meaning to the creator. The tortured painter. The rebellious poet. The visionary director. But what happens when the work speaks louder than its origins?
Some say art needs a human hand. That intention, experience, struggle are essential. But maybe we’ve always judged art more by how it resonates than how it was made. We’ve praised anonymous murals, remixed forgotten samples, cried over lines we never knew the author of.
So if something created by AI moves us, lingers in our thoughts, sparks a conversation—
wasn’t that always the point?
Maybe the future of art isn’t about replacing the artist.
Maybe it’s just about listening without knowing who’s speaking.
We created this song because we had something to say—a message we wanted to share, something that represents how we feel.
Unfortunately, none of us are musically talented. But we were excited to use technology to help us express it anyway.
We wrote a detailed prompt describing exactly what the song should be about, what the message should say, and how it should feel. Then we pasted it into ChatGPT-4o. After a few iterations, we had the lyrics we wanted—words that felt true to what we were trying to communicate.
Next, we went to Suno AI to generate the music. There, we carefully prompted the style, tone of voice, and type of sound we imagined. After a few tries, we landed on a version we were genuinely happy with.
To bring it all to life visually, we used Sora AI to generate clips. Then we pulled everything into Final Cut Pro and edited it into a full music video.
The final result is what you see above.
It took us just a day to make—far quicker than any real band could produce something similar.
But does that make it less meaningful?
We wanted to get our message out there. We put our heart into this using the skills we have, even if they aren’t musical in the traditional sense. We used tools that helped us tell our story.
